While we may think less of ourselves, our Creator does not. He created us to be a royal priesthood. He created us in His image to be a glory to Him. He created us to have dominion. We have an inheritance. We are wonderfully made and He rejoices over us with gladness.
Yet it just does not feel like that sometimes. Man has fallen short so many times we have lost count. Personally, we cannot say we are perfect in every way yet he created us to be that way. Be ye Perfect.. Ah No.
Yet there is hope. There is an old hymn that goes.. We have this hope that burns within our hearts, hope in the coming of the Lord. Our hope is in the Lord who will not only save but has already done so! His actions on Calvary almost 2,000 years ago cemented the hope that is made available to us today. A hope that He will not only provide a future for us but cares for us now, in this age.
I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galations 2:20
In the flesh Christ can dwell in the here and now. It is His light that can burn within us to light the way for others. It is our mission as apostles and followers of His Way to become perfect reflectors of His light so that it can shine on others. In response, they to become reflectors and the operation goes on until the whole world is illuminated.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew
Unfortunately, Scripture tells us this effort will fall short and there will be a time of much turmoil and persecution. But there is a promise that we will be delivered just as Paul was so many times. Some of us may be delivered to death but eternal life awaits us on the other side of our slumber in the grave. Man cannot destroy us, nature cannot and neither can the enemy who prowls like a lion waiting to devour. God will save us and you can take that to the bank.
While we have breath in our lungs and the ability to share Gods love, let us become beacons and reflectors of His light so that we may save the many who are bound in darkness. God has made a way through His Son to overcome this world of pain and suffering and a MUCH brighter future awaits those who believe. I guarantee it!!
We have become strengthened by the crucible of attacks by the enemy. We have become polished by the Word He handed down so many years ago. Now we must direct the light we have seen and instead of absorbing it for ourselves, reflect it onto all who stumble in the dark. We can help them find their way like He did with us.
We are the city on the hill, we are the lamp that must be put on the lampstand. Let our reflection of His light shine before men and women that our good works may glorify Him in Heaven. Good things are coming... stay tuned.
