Put on Christ

It is that time of year when the masses dress up in costumes and celebrate Halloween. It is a way to escape who we are for one day and become someone else. Christians are cautioned NOT to celebrate this holiday as it is of an evil origin.

But here I provide a costume that is acceptable to put on and one we can wear all the time.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Romans 13:14

In putting on Christ, we do away with the carnal individual and embrace the Divine. Paul's letters were all about us putting on the mantle of Christ and becoming like Him. Like Elijah putting on the mantle of God, Christ's mantle provides sanctification and the ability for God to see Jesus rather than our sinful nature. His message was that we are part of the Body of Christ and that the Holy Spirit dwells in me to do good and to be found blameless in His sight.

that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption 1 Corinthians 30

We need to be in Christ so that we are seen not for who we really are but as a child of the Living God like Jesus was. Much like putting on a costume and becoming someone else, we emanate that personage to play up the character. What better character to play than Jesus Himself. Let us put on Christ and emanate His love and disguise the sinful man hidden underneath.

So if you are opposed to putting on a costume for Halloween, put on the mantle of Christ instead. But wear it all year long!

And that is the Whole Truth!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.

And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
