The Power of Prayer

What weapons do we have in this world to combat the things we cannot control? The Coronavirus is certainly one of those things. As of today, almost 148,000 people have lost their lives to this virus.

When the plagues hit Egypt, the only thing the Israelite's had at their disposal was faith in God and the prayers of Moses. Yet they prevailed where the Egyptians did not.

Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer Romans 12

Continuing steadfastly in prayer. This is the strongest weapon we have against fear, turmoil, uncertainty and anxiety. These emotions are rampant currently with this virus spreading across the globe. We can overcome and must as children of the most High.

Jesus taught us how to pray but also through His apostles, delved deeper into the subject. Paul and James touched on this in who is more effective in prayers.

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5

So we must be righteous to avail much in prayer. But then Paul says:

As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; Romans 3

In the Old Testament, the children of God had Priests who would represent them to God and have their sins forgiven and prosperity restored through their prayers and service to the Lord. Jesus removed the veil and allowed us to interact directly with God as the Priests had corrupted His Law. But we are not righteous like they were called to be.

So who has a chance to get their prayers heard by God and get absolution? It just so happens we have a Priest who takes our prayers and submits them to the Most High. Jesus is seated at the right hand of God Himself! He is our righteous Man who came to earth and was found blameless and gave His life so that we might live and reign with Him one day.

We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, Hebrews 8

Here is the power of prayer. Submit your request to Him and seek His face. Let your anxieties and fears be known to Him through humbled interaction and demonstrate that we are powerless but He is powerful to answer our prayers.

We must join together, drop to our knees, confess our sins and humble ourselves before the Lord. In our prayer we must pray in the name of Him who is righteous.

You will be amazed at the response! I guarantee it.

And that is the Whole Truth!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.

And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
