Build your House on a Rock

This past week, the news has been consumed by the Coronavirus in China. This virus has spread rapidly through China and has shut down almost the entire country. Flights from other nations have been cancelled and the country will lose billions in commerce if they do not eradicate this virus soon.

Experts believe that the virus origin was from bats and people in China eat bats. Not my first choice for a tasty delicacy but when you have to feed over a billion people, you utilize all available resources.

The Bible was written by our Creator. He made us and the world around us and knows what works to our benefit and what does not. He cautions us on how to navigate this plane of existence and He instructs us on what we should eat and what we should avoid. Bats are not on the menu in the scripture.

These are the birds you are to regard as unclean and not eat because they are unclean: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture, the red kite, any kind of black kite, any kind of raven, the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk, the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl, the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey, the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat. Leviticus 11:13

When you buy a house, there are people who instruct you on what to do and not to do in maintaining the house. Those who heed the instructions on proper maintenance will lead prosperous lives in their home. Those who do not will face excessive repair bills.

God has laid out for us the words of His Book of Life and IF we read it AND put it into practice, we will live as if we built our house on a rock and not sand. Which would you rather do?

The New Testament is the more popular of the Scriptures but the Old Testament is where the best teachings are for our survival. In the 39 books of the Old Testament, our Lord has instructed us on what to eat, how to relate to others and how best to conduct ourselves.

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4

Read His instructions and put them into practice. By doing so, you will build your house on the rock! Oh and avoid the bat stew...

And that is the Whole Truth!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.

And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
