Children of the Living God

The average lifespan these days is around 73. It is either less or more depending on what country you live in. It also depends on your race and gender with women typically living longer than men.

It used to be much shorter in years past so we have made progress.

Jesus was crucified on the cross at 33 so His lifespan was pretty short. However, scripture reveals He is MUCH older. Older than Methuselah who died at 969 years.

In the Heavenly realm, 1,000 years is like a day. 2 Peter 3 So we only make it to about 7% of a day. Not long in those terms. So it is no wonder that God refers to us as children. In His eyes we are all still babes trying to make our way. We have so little understanding of the Kingdom of Heaven and the splendor and magnificence of its existence. Many don't even believe it exists.

Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18

We must receive the Word and love of Christ like little children with wonder and adoration much like children adore their parents (until they hit puberty). Only children truly understood the glory of Jesus.

“have you never read, “‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise’? Matthew 21

We must put on the mantle of a child like appreciation for Jesus and His teaching. We still have so much to learn. We must persevere and stay focused on His plan and look forward to the inheritance He has reserved for us.

Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

Revel 21

John addressed all of his writings to the children. He was one of the first apostles to reveal our true nature. He tried to explain our current condition.

We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

1 John 5

The Bible reveals we will receive a new body at the resurrection and second coming of Christ. What will this body be like?

we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.1 Cor 15:51

Whose to say that our new bodies will not be the bodies of children? Children created to learn the Way of God and His kingdom. We tried it our way now lets try it His with wonder and adoration.

And that is the Whole Truth!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.

And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
