His Workmanship

There was a sermon preached by Bubot Parago where he told the story of Buzz Lightyear in the movie Toy Story. He explained how Buzz thought he was a Space Ranger and could fly and shoot lasers. He was full of pride and self esteem and was always heard saying "to infinity and beyond". He was there to fight the evil emperor Zurg and protect others.

Tried as he might in the movie, he could not fly or shoot lasers and his perception of himself dwindled until he began to belittle himself and get depressed. "I am not a Space Ranger, I am just a stupid toy" he is heard saying in the movie.

His friend Woody tries to reassure him and convinces him he is valuable. He points out that he is a possession of Andy and shows Buzz that Andy has written his name on the bottom of his shoe. This restores his confidence and He and Woody go on to become protectors of the other toys and possessions of Andy.

Just like Buzz, we are very full of ourselves. Invariably at some point in our lives, we may realize how truly insignificant we are. But just like Woody, the authors of the Bible try to help us understand who we really are. Who we are possessions of.

We are possessions of Jesus bought for a price just like Buzz the Toy. Unfortunately, the price was VERY high and it required the death of the Creator of the Earth. His death on the cross was His way of showing us how much He loved us. Throughout the pages of the Scripture, Jesus has tried to show us His love for us and how far he was willing to go to prove this.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

Jesus loves us just like every other possession of His and unlike the end of Toy Story, our Owner will not leave us but will be forever with us. TO ETERNITY AND BEYOND!

And that is the Whole Truth!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.

And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
