When Cain killed Abel in Genesis, he did not just kill one man. He killed the possibility of the multitude that would spring forth from the children of Abel just as there was a multitude that sprang forth from Seth.
When the Lord told Abraham that his descendent's would be greater than the stars in heaven, I am sure he may have questioned this as he only had two sons. Even their sons would not be enough to come close to this prophecy. But now over 3,000 years later, we can see the multitude of children of Abraham who inhabit the Earth.
It is amazing how fast things can spread in an exponential fashion. If one couple has two children, then they each have two and so on, it does not take long before there are 32 descendent's of the original two. In this same fashion cultures and religions have spread the same way, through families.
With this concept in mind, one can now see how powerful it can be if we show kindness or teach just one person. That kindness and teaching will spread to their friends or relatives and so on and so on. In Luke, Jesus said:
"I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance." Luke 15
More joy in heaven is pretty amazing! Think of all the Pastors who have baptized thousands and how much joy and song in heaven has come of that. We can play a part in that joy. By just helping one, by just teaching one, by just loving one.
Just like Abraham, you may not see the fruits of your labor, but you can still plant the seed. A seed that will make it possible for your love to begat hundreds if not thousands of children of God. What a wondrous gift that will await you when we come into the presence of the Lord. "Well done good and faithful servant" is what we all want to hear from His lips.
Start today, who knows how many millions? you may inspire or touch with the love of God and His promises of Eternal Life. We can all have an impact on this world and initiate joy in heaven!
