True North

Before the days of high tech instrumentation, explorers had to use other means not to get lost in the wilderness or at sea. Sailors used a sextant to check their position against the North Star to determine where they were. Along with the sextant came the compass that used the magnetic field of the Earth to help explorers understand where true north was so they could stay on track and successfully moving towards their destination.

Just like the ocean and the wilderness, life is a vast expanse of unknowns. We need some sort of tool to help us guide us through all uncertainties. Yes we can learn from experience but that is sometimes a long and arduous journey. Why not learn from someone else's experiences or better yet consult a written description of many experiences to help us avoid the pitfalls life can throw at us.

The Creator provided us with just that document in the form of the Scriptures. In it, He laid out how we are to navigate this plane of existence and what actions lead to success and which will lead to failure. We only get one crack at this life so why not arm ourselves with the best tools and wisdom to experience it safely and successfully?

This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance.

Isaiah 28

Throughout the Bible there is one theme that resonates through its pages. The idea of love as our guide in all affairs is the true message of God's Word. It is found 504 times in the Bible and surprisingly more in the Old Testament than the New. The 10 Commandments can be boiled down to love for God and love for one another. Jesus explained this in Matthew 22

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

In the heart of God, love is the answer to every question and the goal of every action. Jesus sacrifice was out of love for us. The 12 apostles spread this message and gave up their lives for the love of Jesus. Love never fails.

Want to succeed in this life? Keep love in your heart. Let love be our mantra and always in the forefront of our minds. So when we find ourselves in precarious situations or at a loss of what to do next, let Love be our True North and let it be our guide in every enterprise we undertake or situation we find ourselves in.

And that is the Whole Truth!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.

And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
