Israel's Six Day War

Back in early June 1967, Israel was finalizing its attack on the Arab states. It had been less than 20 years since it reclaimed the Holy Land and the Jewish state was reborn back in 1948.

On June 5th, 1967 Israeli planes hit airfields in Egypt and the war was on. Tensions in the area had finally reached the boiling point and Israeli government felt it had no other choice. Since the 1948 decree, relations with its neighbors had become progressively worse. The Arabs were not happy about the people who had reclaimed their homeland from 70 AD.

For six days air and ground assaults from Israels lesser force pummeled the Arab states around her and on June 11, a cease fire was declared. The lesser Israel had overcome a much larger force and in only six days. Here are the numbers from Wikipedia:

Israel Egypt

Dead 983 15,000

Troops 50,000 240,000

Planes destroyed 46 452

Land Reclaimed Sinai , West Bank

The vast difference in troops, those killed and injured and loss to military hardware is staggering and suggests supernatural forces must have been at work. Not to mention it only took six days.

In six days God created the world - Exodus 20

For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.

It is also worth mentioning that the war ended on the Sabbath day and the cease fire declared the next day (Sunday) brought about the beginning of a new superpower in the Middle East much like Sunday is the beginning of a new week.

Israel has been blessed with the favor of God even after they rejected His son almost 2,000 years ago. If this does not show God's mercies and love, I do not know what else could. God will always have a special place in His heart for his people in Israel and even in the prophecies of the latter days, there is mention of their restoration.

In Hosea we read

"For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days."

Forgive us our sins oh Lord and our rejection of your Son. Restore us to the apple of your eye and proclaim your love and plan for us. Let this six day war back in 1967 remind us you are still at work in your human creation intervening toward your will.

And that is the Whole Truth!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.

And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
