What is Love?

Love is getting up at 3 in the morning to respond to a call to go

help out a family member or friend in need. Love is sacrificing

the things you want to give to another, like parents sacrificing for their children to go to college. Love is giving up your dreams to help another pursue theirs. God is Love.

Lucifer questioned this and the Host of Heaven were witnesses. God needed to teach the universe a major lesson. In the Old Testament, the only way to forgive sins was with a sacrifice. It was not easy for these people to sacrifice their unblemished lambs or sheep. These animals were expensive in their day and if they did not have one, they had to buy one.

Knowing that the blessings of God were required for an abundant life, people would go to great lengths to get the necessary animal to be forgiven of sin. They did not want to be found guilty and they were careful not to sin to avoid paying a heavy price.

Do you think God wanted all of these animals sacrificed

to Him?

Psalm 40

Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;

My ears You have opened.

Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

He created this ritual as a precursor to His ultimate act of Love. Man's denial of God was man's doing, yet God was willing to offer a part of Himself to redeem man from death and enjoy a world in communion with Him. This act has been reenacted again in Mel Gibson's movie The Passion of the Christ. I hope you have seen this movie and witness the torture and humiliation Jesus endured for us.

Imagine going through what he went through for people you do not know. People like the guy who cut you off on the freeway, the woman who ignored your requests for service at the store or the coworker who continues to talk behind your back. Would you endure this level of physical punishment for these people. Jesus did and so did God.

"I and My Father are one"

John 10:30

If God and Jesus are one, then God Himself endured pain, suffering and neglect. God Himself bled, cried and felt the excruciating pain and loneliness that came with this act. The ultimate act of Love for all the universe to witness. To finally once and for all put to rest the questions Lucifer brought up so many years ago. This act will forever solidify the bond between God and creation. A bond of Love and Light.

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in

your ongoing walk with Him. And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
