The Bible talks about beauty. In the Old Testament beauty is reserved for Jerusalem and God Himself.
Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Psalms 29:2
Women have been adorning themselves since the days of the Pharaohs. Beautiful women have been compared to harlots trying to entice men away from their wives. The idols of other societies are compared to harlots enticing Gods people to follow them instead of Him. Harlots adorn themselves to look beautiful to attract men who will protect them and steal them from their families.
But Peter makes claims in the New Testament that speak to women with regard to beauty. In 1 Peter he proclaims:
when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 5 For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves.
The gentle and quiet spirit who put their hope in God used this instead to adorn themselves. Makeup is only temporary, youthful attractive appearance is outgrown but true beauty never fades. Beauty truly is on the inside. Women are certainly stronger than men and their spirit can move mountains. They just need to understand how to harness that power.
God knows the way to a man is through a woman. It was Eve who convinced Adam to take the fruit. It was Bathsheba who brought down David. The true success of a man is determined by the woman he has at his side. Truly beautiful women are the ones who put God first and seek an inner self of a gentle and quiet spirit. One that is in continual communion with God through the Holy Spirit.
So if women want to be truly beautiful, delete the beautify app and embrace the One who loves you no matter what you look like. For He judges the heart and not the outward appearance. Seek Him instead. You are all beautiful in His sight.
