Light of the World

Last week we looked at the weak of the world. Humility and weakness lead to Glory. Scripture expands on this in Jesus teachings about who we really are.
Light is an amazing phenomenon in nature. Light is not just visible light. Visible light only encompasses a small percentage of the light spectrum which includes gamma, Xray, ultraviolet and infrared. Our world is bathed in these lights from various sources.
Jesus stated that He was the light of this world in the book of John.
Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8
Just as nature is drawn to the light of the Sun so to should we be drawn to the light of the Son. He is our sustenance and the light He emanates leads to eternal life.
Light is pretty useless until it encounters an object. Then the true properties of light can be observed. The world around us is very dark until light is revealed and it reflects upon it to show us the beauty and majesty that encompass us all.
Since Jesus has departed to the Father, He has encouraged us to become the light of this world and speaks about it in the book of Matthew.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5
Just as the true properties of light cannot be seen until it encounters an object to reflect off of, we become reflectors of Jesus love. He is still emanating His light onto this little planet in hopes of it being reflected upon others. We can be these reflectors if we follow in His footsteps and bring light to this dark world.
Those of us who have been tried and gone through the crucible understand it is to make us better reflectors of His light. Like the diamond, we must be cut and polished to be the best reflectors of His light.
Like the unseen ultraviolet rays, Jesus light is hidden from most until it finds one who is a powerful reflector. Only then can its majesty and beauty be seen. As followers of Him, we must persevere to become these reflectors of His light and shine it onto others.
Let your little light shine for Him!
And that is the Whole Truth!
Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.
And remember,
God always answers His kneemail.
