Back in 1776 on this day, the United States declared its independence from England. We celebrate this day with time off, BBQ's and fireworks. Since our independence the US has grown into quite a powerhouse on many fronts. many have now become dependent on us.

Independence is the goal for many as they do not like being under the control or dependence on another. Lucifer made that clear many years ago to Adam and Eve. He pushed independence from the Creator simply by partaking of a fruit.

For thousands of years, we have been independent from the Creator and look where it has gotten us. Disease, pestilence, poverty, war, famine and insecurity with what tomorrow will bring. Maybe partaking of that fruit and declaring our independence from the Creator was not such a good thing after all.

Scriptures tell us numerous times of the benefit of clinging to God and relying on Him instead of ourselves. Isaiah writes about the end times in chapter 20

And it shall come to pass in that day That the remnant of Israel, And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob, Will never again depend on him who defeated them, But will depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

Paul tells us we are not independent but dependent on our spouse who makes us whole.

Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 11

Dependence is not such a bad thing really. A a species, we are dependent on each other. When was the last time you slaughtered a chicken for dinner? We are dependent on each other and dependent on God for everything we have.

We should embrace this dependence rather than try to fight it. God is mindful of His people and only wants good for us. Except for maybe our parents, we really don't have anyone who cares for us THAT much and is willing to sacrifice their very lives for us so that we may live.

So as you go about your day to day, enjoy your celebration of independence for the country but give thanks to Him who welcomes us to be dependent ton Him. He will not let us down and has already proven so on Calvary.

And that is the Whole Truth!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.

And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
