Is time travel real? According to the scriptures, it must be. In the New Testament Paul speaks to us that are alive after Jesus death. The crucifixion had taken place years before Paul's ministry yet he speaks as if we were there at the cross.
In several passages, he proclaims we died with Christ? How is that possible when we are still alive and even those he was speaking to at the time were very much alive as well.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:3
We died? I wasn't even born yet..What is he saying?
On the cross, Jesus took on the entirety of sin in this world including past, present and FUTURE. If not, we would need Him to come back and die again so we could be saved. But as He hung dying on the cross, He thought of you and me at that point and asked His Father, "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do" and he gave up His life and died.
Therefore, our sinful life died that day with Him and we are alive through Him.
Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations—Colossians 2:20
The Whole Truth is that Paul is teaching us that if we believe in Jesus, then we died to this world of carnality and must embrace the characteristics of Jesus.
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. Colossians 3:12
Become the elect, love one another and be reborn as a new person dead to sin and destruction.
And that is the Whole Truth!
Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.
