Seek Ye First

We all want and need something. We spend thousands of hours in this quest. Many come up empty running to and fro. Anxiety and fear rule and ruin a lot of lives. So what is it we should be pursuing on this plane of existence?

The Bible teaches us this very thing. Jesus in his dissertation in Matthew 6 discusses what we should be doing with our time.

Matthew 6:31 starts out

"Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things."

Do not worry..I know there is much worrying going on in my part of the country with the devastation from the fires but even these people should not worry. I too have worried in the past but God has never failed to put clothes on my back or food in my belly. I know the mirror reminds me of this every day with my "well nourished" profile.

Seek First-

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Seek ye First the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you. This should be a plaque displayed in our homes. Seeking that first will remove worry, anxiety and frustration. The animals do not worry nor does the grass. Both are watered and fed every day.

How much more valuable are we than the animals and the grass for we are the very image of the Creator! Wouldn't He make sure we are well cared for? Believe me those who seek the kingdom first are well fed and all of their needs are supplied for them. They may not live in mansions and drive expensive cars but they do not go hungry and are sheltered from the elements.

Seek His righteousness first and all of your prayers and desires will be taken care of by Him who created us to do good works. Quit thinking like a Gentile and instead think like a citizen of the Kingdom of God!

Matthew 6 also has the Lords Prayer contained within it. Take a moment this weekend and read Matthew 6. I pray you will and know you will be glad you did.

And that is the Whole Truth!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and may God bless you in your ongoing walk with Him.

And remember,

God always answers His kneemail.
