In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth. In the first few passages of Genesis 1, the Bible details how the earth was developed for mankind. In passages 4,8,10,12,21 and 25 the Bible states that God created and it was good. In Genesis 1:31 it proclaims that God looked over all of His creation and stated it was VERY Good.

Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Based on this we can surmise that everything we need to thrive on this planet has been provided for us and is very good. Genesis goes on to describe the fruit of the trees was very appealing and good for consumption.
There was only one tree that was created that was not to be touched. The fruit of this tree would cause death to mankind. Despite the Creators warnings, our first parents partook of this fruit and paid the ultimate price for disobedience.
I do not believe the fruit of this particular tree was bad but it was more of a test of obedience to God. Remember God said that His creation was very good. It was the evil one who enticed Eve to eat of the tree and disobey God.
Nutritional experts will tell you that eating fruits and vegetables everyday will go a long way to counter disease and enable us to live a healthy lifestyle. Once again God’s creation makes us whole.
So who created Heroin, marijuana, alcohol and cocaine? According to the Bible only God has the power to create. Satan did not create these destructive and addictive drugs or did he? Marijuana is a plant, heroin comes from poppy plants and cocaine is from the coca plant. All plants created by God. Alcohol depending on the type comes from fermented fruit, hops or starches. Once again created by God. Based on the book of Genesis, these plants and creations are very good!
Marijuana does have medicinal properties and users report successful relief from their ailments. I believe these creations by God are very good and the Bible does mention how the leaves of the tree will heal the nations one day.
Revelation 22:2
In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
However, once again, the enemy has stepped in to deceive the people and use these God given herbs in a form they were not meant to be used. Drug and alcohol abuse destroy families and wreak havoc on the human body.
I believe these plants will be in the new earth and we will learn how to use them for their intended purpose and not for getting high or for financial gain. They are regularly prescribed in hospitals now for patients with extreme pain.
God has given us everything we need and it is very good. We just need to utilize it the way He intended and not the way Satan has to destroy mankind.
