I am sure many of you have seen the gesture depicted in this image. It is used to demean someone to communicate that they are a loser. It is interesting that one of the few letters we can display with our natural hand is an L. Why is that interesting? In the Bible, the name of God is Elohim. The names of the angels and many of the prophet’s names ended in “el”. Michael, Gabriel, Daniel, Israel, etc. To have the “el” moniker at the end of your name associated you with the family of God just like the last name of Smith or Wilson associated you with those families or clans. Today, the last name of Getty or Kennedy associates you with a very prominent family and it would be likely that you could potentially get special treatment by merchants and government officials. While it may not seem like it in this world, the el name is the one you definitely want at the end of your given name. The Bible states in the new earth that we will all be given new names. Could it be with the el added to our original names? God renamed Abram to Abraham and Jacob to Israel. Similarly, my new name could be Gerrittel!
Getting back to the loser gesture, as a child of God you are not a loser. Quite the contrary as you are highly regarded in the universe. See Romans 8
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
The loser gesture is an L or could be used to depict EL! What better way to show others who you are associated with than to take your right hand and hold it to your forehead and proclaim your birthright. It is also interesting it must be the “right” hand to display this message.
The Loser gesture is a compliment and not a demeaning one. We are all children of God and as such should have some type of association with Him. In the end we will all have to make a choice between God’s way and the way of the Antichrist. The mark of the beast will be placed in the hand or the forehead of a man. Our response to that question would be to raise our thumb and forefinger to our forehead and show whose way we will choose. In the Book of Joshua it is written
But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
And that is the Whole Truth. God Bless
